About
The main purpose of the “Intelligent Shipping and Transport Systems Laboratory (ISTS Lab)” is the research, development and application of quantitative, technological and economic approaches in the fields of shipping, transport, ports and related infrastructures and systems, with an emphasis on intelligent systems that support their sustainable, efficient and resilient operation.
ISTS Lab also aims to support the educational process and to produce scientific knowledge with direct relevance to the needs of the market, public administration and society.

ISTS Lab conducts cutting-edge research across diverse areas of maritime science and technology, integrating data analytics, modeling, and digital innovation to enhance decision-making, efficiency, and resilience in shipping and port operations. Our research spans from market analysis and risk assessment to infrastructure management and advanced simulation technologies.

ISTS Lab is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, enabling advanced research, simulation, and data analysis in the maritime sector. The laborato ’s cutting-edge infrastructure supports a wide range of applications, including autonomous vessel operations, remote sensing, port and logistics optimization, and maritime safety and security assessments.
